feeling good

As a vegetarian I feel strongly about the treatment of animals. Recently I sent off for a booklet from www.naturewatch.org (I can't post links, stupid computer!)which lists all the companies which do and don't test on animals. Well worth a look for anyone who cares in the slightest about animals suffering just so we can look pretty, and clean our homes.
To my horror I owned and used loads of products that do. Yesterday I threw everything out from these companies and went shopping for some new non animal tested essentials.
I got shampoo and conditioner by a brand called Naked Bodycare available in Boots ( which smells lovely and has left my hair soft and shiny), moisturizer, body lotion, deoderant and mascara from Marks and Spencers (surprisingly cheap!) , nail varnish from Barry M, and some foundation from Urban Decay....Oh and I bought some faux suede wedge boots on ebay as I am no longer purchasing leather goods. I own quite a few vintage leather bags and shoes but as they are over 30 years old I feel it is too late and not feeding the market and most of those companies are no longer in existence.

I have also found time to do my first Christmas card design, but I feel it is too early to show. I can show you the new Giant Noobs I have made...................

Tiny

He's a tiny (only 12cm tall) failed experiment!....

....don't think I like him enough to make more, but who knows I change my mind all the time.....I think it's because he isn't a Christmas card and I'm getting obsessed with doing some!

Noob Cousins

I have been expanding the Noobs family for upcoming craftfairs........

....and I also made a start on some make-up bags

It is a lovely day outside, warm and sunny, so why am I thinking about Christmas cards? I think I am worrying because I haven't started designing any for this year yet. Maybe I will make a start tonight when it is cold and dark outside and feels a bit more acceptable to think about winter and Christmas....right off to the allotment while the weather is nice.

Big heads

I have been crafting away on Big head Noobs as I don't have any left. Here are the new guys.....

We went to the allotment today, and gathered a good harvest, I love this time of year

I did this card yesterday for Lucy's nephews second birthday.....

Tomorrow I hope to do some more crafting. If this goes to plan I'll show you the results.

back home

I'm back from Cornwall. I did a few new doozer characters while I was there.....

...I picked up some old postcards......

....hee hee the bears make me laugh, they are just so kitsch and crappy and slightly sinister too.

I also liked the old imagery of these adverts, so naive and fun.

most of my trip involved this........

...but i did fit in a trip to the Eden project......

I love all the green tropical plants

these little guys were cute in the middle of it all....

and of course the beach was beautiful. I love the sea

Now it is back to crafting!

Holiday Time

I am off on Holiday to Cornwall with my mum, so won't be around for a few days. Back soon with exciting stuff! xxx

Angelfaries

I have been working away on a secret project for Christmas, and I think I am ready to show you the first prototypes. They are paper Angelfaries, 3D versions of my drawings. I think they will be good for Christmas, I'm going to put one on top of my tree. I plan to sell them in my Etsy shop and on my craft stall. See what you think.........

.....I have also finished a commission on a noobs and a big head for a friend, here they are ......

Yesterday it was lovely and sunny and me and Sarah went for a walk and had a tasty lolly pop in the Botanical Gardens

I miss the days when we used to work together, it was the most fun. Everyday was dress up day for us and the manaquins.

Tasty good

Today it didn't rain (not until now anyway!), so me and mum went to the allotment. It felt good to be out in the fresh air. We did some digging and then harvested these treats.....

....we ate the sweetcorn when we got home, it was tasty good!

I missed my friends birthday, which was bad. I made her this card to say sorry.

Louise one of the talented stall holders from the craftCandy craft fair, has written a little bit on her blog about me and my work, which was really flattering. She does lovely textile designs and her blog is well worth a look.

strange weather

Today has been an odd day, this morning it was sunny and warm. In the afternoon me and mum packed up our things for the allotment and set off. As soon as we got there, there were big black clouds, thunder and lightening and then hail.......

....we turned around and drove home. Then about half an hour later this beautiful rainbow appeared at the bottom of the garden.

My friend Lucy sent me some photo's of her Noobs in their new home.....

If anyone else has any of my plush creatures or art, I would love it if you sent me photos of them in their new home too, and I'll post them on here.

Good news! I got a stall for the Craftcandy Christmas craft fair ( a whole load of "C's going on there!). Looks like i'm going to have to get my craft on and come up with some cute Christmas crafts.
