Lovely new things

I had more fun stuff come through my letterbox today. I got 2 lovely hair clips made by Kelda of Panda Eyes Designs. She is a fellow Craft Candy stall holder and makes Plushies and other cute items. I asked her to make me a big pink hair flower clip and she made me a couple to chose from, and I couldn't decide which one to get so bought both!.

On Saturday we got this chair from a vintage shop (I was supposed to looking for a light for the kitchen, oh well) .

Orange lovely Orange

Finally the dream blinds I have been waiting for were delivered and installed yesterday..and I love them!

They cast a lovely orange glow when the sun is shining onto them and can be swivelled in different directions to create different effects. They really tie all the other orange bits in the room together.

Do you believe in fairies.......

Do you?.....I do. I photographed these at the bottom of my garden.

They are fairies not Strawberry Shortcake dolls in home made dresses..........OK!

Here's a picture I drew months ago that I only just got around to colouring. It's quite crude and was just a little something to get me creating again. I would like to do another but better. I am also working on my plush toys for aaltomoderna......I'll show you soon.

Wall Candy

I have  four curtains in this crazy psychedelic mushroom landscape fabric and have been waiting till I live somewhere with the right sized windows (or get a camper van) to use them. Unless I move into a static caravan (or can afford a camper van) they are never going to fit any other window. So I have stretched one of them over a canvas using my new staple gun...........................

........staple guns are amazing! I got pretty staple happy and also recovered this little stool in the hallway. I had planned to do  before and after photos of this stool I picked up in a charity shop, but forgot to take the before picture because I'm stupid, so just imagine it all dirty with a crappy brown stained velour fabric on before it became this!......

....Staple gun aside, I got the hammer out and put up a few other things on the walls.............

......I got this cuckoo clock in a charity shop years ago and never really got round to displaying it properly, now it has pride of place on the wall in the lounge. The cuckoo still 'cuckoos'', which was fun at first but at 3am I couldn't take being woken by it every hour anymore, so had to remove the separate cuckoo batteries. It makes me a bit sad it's now silent but sleep is very important to me!

Finally I put Tina up, who came from a carboot and is a bit battered, but I love her. Every 'trendy' bar in sheffield seems to have one of these now. I don't care. I got her years ago because I liked it not because It has suddenly become cool to own one for it's novelty value, so there!

good bye Mr. Fringe....for now

I am sure no one cares but I have ditched my fringe for a while and reverted back to my old hairstyle. I am also hoping to revert back to doing more designing and crafting. All my creative juice is being squeezed out for work but I think it's time I saved some for my own projects. I miss doing my own drawings and making stuff.

Good Finds....

Yesterday I went to the allotment for the first time in a while....only to find our gate partially kicked in. Luckily they couldn't get in due to all the brambles and wire we had wrapped round the gate to guard against this sort of thing. The local bobby was there along with some other allotmenters who were not so lucky and had been broken into and had tools stolen and veg uprooted and crops ruined......anyway the reason I tell you this is, on the way there I spotted a plant pot in the window of a second hand shop, but with no money and driving to fast to stop I couldn't pull up for a closer peek. So today I went back up there to see if it was still there....and it was! here it is..................

..........a glorious owl plant pot! I love him. I already have one which I found at a carboot last year and now he has a friend.........................................

In the same shop I also spied  this little guy (the small deer vase) who was cheap as chips and matches the squirrel one I have (which I showed you in my last post). Then on my way back to the car I got a set of three fabric place mats with the cutest bird design on...........................

................and my little squirrel pal came back to visit today.....a good day all round.
